Fee: $150-300 Neuropsychology A neuropsychologist is a clinical psychologist who specializes in understanding the relationship between the physical brain and behavior. Certain illnesses and injuries-and the medications used to treat them-can have affects on the brain causing problems with attention, learning, memory, behavior, socialization or emotional control. Pediatric Neuropsychology and Psychotherapy Children, Adolescent and Young Adults Dr Foster’s training in pediatric neuropsychology enables her to work with infants and young children, as well as adolescents and young adults. These include neurodevelopmental disorders and autism spectrum disorders. A neuropsychological evaluation is an assessment of a child’s overall cognitive functioning to help determine the effects of an injury, illness or medication and lay the groundwork for treatment as well as provide a baseline for tracking a child’s improvement. Dr Foster uses a variety of techniques that include testing, play therapy, and work with parents and child that typically take place once a week, depending on the child or family’s needs.
